Hi, everyone! My regular buyer has ordered a number of flannel garments, fully lined of the same material, for her tiny Chihuahuas, and the first few cotton flannel garments I made for her dogs fit great. However, the last few times I've tried sewing that material, the neck and tummy straps have come out too long. The odd thing about it is that wnen I made the garments that fit her dogs, I didn't have to do a thing to the fabric - just cut, pinned and sewed them, But the last few garments I've tried making have stretched despite basting and, the last time I tried making something, I added still another step in a futile attempt to prevent stretching: immersing the completed garment (with no Velcro added) in hot water, letting it dry, and then repeating the immersion.
I'd greatly appreciate any advidce you can provide, since I'd hate like anything to have to stop making flannel items for her dogs. Thanks in advance.
