MALL CRAFT EVENTS!

I just did my first AND LAST craft event in a mall! It was terrible. 2 days of watching people rush by on their way to shop in the stores. Absolutely no sales not just for me, but for most of the vendor there......everyone left early the 2nd day......

You would think it would be great with all those people coming in to the mall. One thing is the lack of promotion on the part of the event organizers and the mall. There where just a few black and white signs in the mall. Black and White really, for a craft event.....Color please and large. The lack of promotion was most evident when the people shopping in the mall said they knew nothing about the event. I seemed no one came, just for the event!!!!

We all paid for our spaces and would expect part of that money to be used to promote.....Am I wrong?????

Sorry for your bad experience Lalena. I've looked at doing them here but they seemed a bit pricey. When I've seen them at the malls the vendors don't look busy at all. Most of the vendors are resalers and not handmade. I tend to stay away from shows that have resalers.

A mall is not a good place to go to. When I go to a mall and see the booths that are in the middle of the floor. I actually avoid them. Mostly people trying to get you to buy a cell phone or hair accessories/crystal hanger things. Most people when they go to the mall are looking to buy whats in the shops and not whats being sold on the floors. What I think is that most people avoid it right away. So when they saw the tables set up they avoided you out of habit. It was also wrong of them to take your money and not promote the show right. Sorry that wasn't a good experience for you.
