What you want from the team?

I was thinking that I'm really enjoying this team way more than some I have joined and I think it's because there is a real sharing of thoughts and ideas and not just an endless stream of promotional threads.

So what are you looking for in a team?

Re: What you want from the team?

I'm very pleased with the teams efforts.
I've also tried in the past to belong to teams with similar interest only to feel left out....shut out.

Everyday another thread topic comes to mind, but I don't want to seem like a "know it all"....so, glad you stepped up and opened this thread topic, Terri. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences.

Re: What you want from the team?

I think we have a great group of members here and if all remember that their ideas and comments are all every one of equal value. Jump in the conversation even if its to say Hi

and if not , well thats ok too. :-)

Re: What you want from the team?

This is a great team and I'm really glad Mickey invited me to check it out. I mainly want to learn more about the stones I buy for my jewelry, what they are and what to look for so I can give my customers correct info.

I might even learn to figure out what all those pretty rocks are that I constantly pick up and have piled in my house and yard!

Re: What you want from the team?

I think what I am trying to say is don't let your lack of knowing about something stop you from participating here. I have spent my complete life as a jeweler, rock nut without a regular job but others may have taken another path like actually having a job :-) but both of us may be very excited about stones and rocks and gems.. in that light we are very similar. Hopefully, just because i know a few names of rocks... this will not stop others from jumping in and having fun here :-) besides probably most the names i use have been changed by now :-) or never were correct

Re: What you want from the team?

Even the seasoned folk like Jerry and Jim will appreciate the benefits of this team. I think they'll feel so good for helping us and encouraging us all to grow in the knowledge of lapidary.

Oh, yeah..............and licking rock can be harmful. Should have mentioned that earlier =0)

Re: What you want from the team?

I am a total novice but I enjoy learning from all you guys and gals who input all this valuable info. Some I need and some I put away in my mind bank for future reference. I usually check in once a day, but I don't always have anything useful to input.

Re: What you want from the team?

I value the knowledge and willingness to share that I find with this team. I like a team that doesn't feel all stuffy and high brow when it comes to asking a question. I have been making my jewelry for a few years now, but really want to learn the lapidary side of my stone setting. Although, as I have said before, this is not the best place for a stone addict to hang out ;).

Re: What you want from the team?

Yes, be careful which rocks you decide to lick. Arsenates and Chromates, not such a good idea :-) Halite, however, it's the best way to identify the material :-)
