Setting up a Business in Seattle

Hey everyone!

I recently moved to Seattle and am trying to figure out how to correctly set up my business here. I moved from NJ, then Indiana which was pretty lax as far as business licences so I'm all kinds of mixed up.

Upon researching I have found that the WA website for registering your business is filled with broken links, not making the process easier. I also saw that to operate in Seattle itself I may need to register with the city.

What did you do to set up your business? Do you have any tips for me and anyone else that might need help?

So, in addition to leading etsyRAIN, I am also one of the organizers of School House Craft here in Seattle and we are just about to announce a Hands-on workshop for the evening of Feb 1st that will walk you through all the steps necessary to get your UBI Number (WA state business license) and info on getting set up with the City of Seattle too!
