Let's Discuss Inspiration

Hi there! I recently discovered my love for Scandinavian Design which is why I decided to join your amazing team here. I invite you all to share who or what inspires you to create, to make, and to improve.

For example, I only discovered Himmeli yesterday and can't wait to get a hold of some straws from the break room and start cutting and forming those lovely geometric mobiles!

Hi Hannah! I just joined this team. I make quilted items; my shop is kind of a hodge podge now because as my daughter said, "Her target audience is anyone who will buy her stuff" and she's right. I've been trying this and that. But I was listening to a webcast yesterday that strongly encouraged people to claim their niche on Etsy because niche-shops are favored by Etsy. Then I realized that I love Scandinavian/Nordic color palettes and folk art, no so much the minimalism, and I have been drawn to this style repeatedly for many years. All that to say that I'm going to see if I can focus on Scandinavian-feel items; that way I'll be working with what I love and maybe won't get overly caught up in longing for sales.
So I have a few Scandinavian items in the shop now and several others in the works.

I got a little side-tracked with Star Wars and made an applique pattern. I have a few copies of little 8'X6" mats from the pattern almost ready to be listed.

Your shop is so pretty! Everything is beautifully displayed and the items are so fresh and appealing.
