What does selling on Etsy mean to you?

This thread is for sharing what selling on Etsy means for each one of us :)

For me, it means so much.... I know that my creations will be finding new homes all over the world and whatever monetary exchange I will receive for them will go towards our family's project of creating a Qigong retreat centre (www.wildgooseqigong.eu) out in the beautiful countryside in Eastern Europe. It is already a place where people can come to relax, learn, enjoy themselves away from all the usual routine and stress. When I create, I travel back to all the beautiful places of the world that I've been to and learned so much!!

Dove, you do beautiful work! Selling on Etsy means so much to me too..it's my day job, though I still have a few wholesale brick and mortar accounts from pre etsy days. Selling on Etsy means I can take it a bit easier as far as injuring my hands from repetitive motion. I make all the glass items in my shop. I am most grateful to make a higher profit too, absolutely necessary for my business to survive. April was the 1st month we paid our rent entirely from Etsy sales, excepting the Christmas season, which is always nuts for us.
Hope more folks respond, it's a good subject choice!
