the 3 Rs & U -- in crafts and in life in general

We follow the 3Rs and U in our shops. I also try to follow the RRR&U in life too!
Some of the things I do are:
-regular paper, plastic, metal recycling
-recycle glass jars
-when I do laundry I try to hang a few items from each load to air dry
-I sort my junk mail and recycle most, upcycle some, and trash the bits with our names etc on it
-I recycle books by selling and purchasing 2nd hand
-I shop at thrift stores
-I try to buy things with less packaging
-I try to remember to take my own shopping bags for groceries
-I compost some of our compostables
-I recycle and upcycle clothing
What are some of the things you do to follow RRR&U?

I think you have covered most things I already do Kathy but I also make my own re-usable shopping bags from old curtains etc...I really should make some for my shop :)

any ideas for a used RV awning that had a little tear and was replaced with a new one?

Oh you've got me there Kathy...if it wasn't too heavy a fabric I'd probably make shopping bags out of that too but maybe I'm a bit of a one trick pony lol!

I am a thrift shop addict, my heart is captured by something once loved waiting to be loved once again.
I recycle my fast food bags and grocery bags for parcel wrapping
I recycle egg cartons for fragile items when mailing
I recycle plastic bread wrappers for shipping fillers
I recycle tin cans for a pedestal base for some of my dolls
I recycle nail polish glass bottles and perfume bottles for Spirit Bottles...
and much, much more!

The RV awning could be recycled for wheel covers for your wheels on your RV.
At 65 my hubby was diagnosed with Leukemia, we sold our home bought an RV and are having a blast full time RVing and hitting some Bucket List favorite places. I'll be adding "found items" to my crafting supplies soon.
