Get help with your descriptions here!

Want to know people's honest opinion about your description/s? Post here and brace yourself for criticism. Don't let your ego stand in the way of improving your shop.

Before doing so, please read those useful tips to make your descriptions compelling:

1. Watch using anything negative, there is always a way to state something in a positive way. (this was an awesome advise from a very dear friend).

Example:

Don't do this: "This Listing Is just for 1, NOT 4 Etsy Banners."

Do this: "This listing is for One (1) Etsy banner, choose the one you LOVE and we can get started."

2. Create a good, heartwarming story about your product ("Let them know why owning this item is so wonderful. Are they going to feel like a princess with that lovely bracelet? Is that platter not only functional, but makes a wonderful work of art? Is that item the perfect gift for hard-to-buy-for people? Does the item evoke certain emotions? Tell us what’s so great about it!" - http://etsy.me/15A4yEe)

3. Make sure you answer all the questions that apply to your product listed in the link above.

4. Focus on the buyer, not yourself. Use "you" more than you use "I". People are interested in knowing what they'll get and how it will benefit them.

5. "End with a link.

Did you know you can copy and paste Etsy URLs in your descriptions and they will function as a hyperlink? Use this to your advantage. If your visitor has read your item description and is not biting, don’t let them float away to another website, Etsy shop or back to their search results. Instead, give them a link to learn more about you, see your entire shop, check out a shop section or even link to a search within your shop." - http://etsy.me/1t0CySU

6. Set the tone of your descriptions to friendly, welcoming and personal. Really connect with your potential customers.

All love, Andra
