Hey, guys!
I tried recording a video for you, but couldn't. I'll write the essentials today and try creating a .pdf later on.
For your Etsy banner and logo, you'll be needing a good free font that is appropriate for your business, a professional free photo to match that and a free and easy to use software (GIMP).
You'll need to download and install the software here:
http://www.gimp.orgYou'll find tons of free fonts here:
http://www.dafont.com/And tons of free high-quality photos here:

- make sure you use one that is easy to read and it goes well with the items you sell. For example, if you are a wood crafts man like Mike, you don't want to use curly fonts, but something you can find in the Basic - Sans Serif section. :)
- once you decide on a font you want and download it, unzip the file and copy the .ttf or .otf file to My Computer - C - Windows - Fonts.
ABOUT THE IMAGE
- again make sure it has something to do with your line of business first.
- if you choose a dark image, make sure the font has a light color. And vice-verse.
If you want just a background image and a font (which will be your logo) in front of it, here's what you need to do:
1. Open Gimp
2. Press File - New... a little window will pop up. Write 710 to Width and 100 to Height. Click the advanced options and choose Fill with - Transparency. Then click ok
3. Copy the image from one of the sites above, by right click "copy image" and then go to gimp and click in the menu bar: Edit - Paste.
4. click the "Text" button and write your text. If you select the text and double click the text button the text panel will appear and you will be able to change the font, its color and its size. Press the "Move" button to adjust it.
5. Once you're happy with the result, click File - Export and you're done. :)
Let me know if you have any questions.
All love, Andra
