Generating Interest?

Hi, I've just joined this team. It appears there isn't much activity, which gives me some reservations, but I like a challenge!. Can we change things? I am not new to Etsy, but am new to being serious about Etsy. I've been a fulltimer since March 2012, and really enjoy it. My crafts keep me focused and busy since I don't like TV or sitting! We are "retired", but not yet to retirement age. That brings its own challenges.

I'm wondering, do you do craft shows while on the road? Have you found other markets for your creations in your travels? Is your Etsy shop just a pasttime, or a business? I'd love to hear your stories and how Etsy fits into this vagabond life.

Right now we sell on etsy Full-Time, basically our only source of income right now (we have another etsy shop where we sell our crocheted items, but we can't get orders from it year round: http://purplemooseshop.etsy.com).
We would love to see how others are selling their crafts while on the road, we haven't done very many Craft Fairs yet.

Hi Dee,
When I joined this group I was a full timer.....now a part timer. I think most of the people that were on at the beginning of the group are just too busy enjoying their life on the road. It hasn't been active for awhile. I am/was like you and aren't really of retirement age. It's enjoyable out on the road and I know how much I liked having my creativity with me. I never did sell when I was was on the road but think it's a perfectly doable thing. You can just travel from show to show. Now I just sell locally where we live.

I hope some other full timers will chime in.

I too am a full-timer, both my husband and I are retired (military) so still young. I started crafting last year and decided to open up an Etsy shop and see if I can make some extra money. I haven't sold very much but I do enjoy making vinyl decals, shirts, hats, and bags. I started out selling homemade yarn pom poms but changed that due to lack of interest and lack of storage room.
