New Year's Resolutions

Have any New Year's Resolutions and Goals?

For business? For personal?

Let's discuss!

___________________________________________________

For business:

Attend a weekly or bi-weekly market.
Add 2-3 new lines of products to my overall collection.
Get 5 wholesale accounts.
Creatively make money.
Start doing home parties.
Expand my party favors.

For personal:

Exercise daily.
Creatively save money.
Stay organized.
Travel more (especially go visit California, haven't been back in 2 years since I graduated college).
Get my passport.
Continue to learn Portuguese.
Meet new friends.
Save for a house!

I posted this in the Business Topics team and wanted to post for our team as well!

Re: New Year's Resolutions

I love setting goals this really helped me when we set goals for December! so I've got some good ones for this year.

for business

finish my earth, air, fire and water candle
post new items on etsy more often
make scrolls out of fabric
just have fun with it, but serious fun cuz i know when I get too serious it stops being fun then I stop creating...

for personal

I love your number one Jacque yes exercises everyday!
Become more fluent in Japanese take the Japanese Language Proficients exam next Dec. and no cramming this year.
stay focused enough to finish my dreams and stop just dreaming about them

I just want to thank the quite your day job team for helping me focus! :D and I wish everyone the best of luck in the new year!

Wow great goals Morij!!!

I can't wait to see what your Earth, Air, Fire & Water candle looks like! And scrolls out of fabric sounds interesting too!

Definitely need to keep up on the exercising and I hope you do well with your Japanese exam. Keep us posted!

Re: New Year's Resolutions

Good like with the exam Moriji! I studied Japanese for ten years, but never did the TOEFL exam. I probably should have!

My major resolution is to get the work/life balance right. I feel like I'm either doing nothing but working, or nothing but lazing about! I need to be able to organise my work and free time so that I'm using both of them efficiently.

Exercise is always in there like you jacque, lets hope I can stick to it!

I also want to be making enough by the end of the year so I can start travelling again, this time for work - doing markets and conventions interstate and overseas.

Re: New Year's Resolutions

Mon those are really great and difficult goals, I feel the same way sometimes, either I'm doing too much or I feel I'm not doing enough.

That is amazing that you studied for ten years I know how hard it gets! I have been studying Japanese for twelve years now and I have not given myself the confidence to really do something with it. So I think If I pass an exam it might make me think yes I can do this :)

Re: New Year's Resolutions

My business goals:

To make at least three new items every day and list them on Etsy (on average)

To build my own website

To have guts to start some face-to-face sales

Personal goals:

To learn at least basics of 20 languages till the end of 2012 and fundraise money for charity on the way.

To learn new skills.

Re: New Year's Resolutions

I generally set my goals in a monthly segment so they don't become overwhelming and can be manageable but i DO have a few things that just simply can't be done this year.

Personal
+ quit my day job!!! (and get a relaxed part time job to supplement if necessary)
+ buy a house with my fiance/husband (our wedding is in March)
+ pay my student loans totally paid off to minimize bills
+become my own boss!!!
+after quitting my job finally have some time off to go visit family in California

Business
+ gain enough business through my store to drop my job to at least part time if not quit
+find out if getting a business license is for me and get/not get one
+build a great amount of stock to support several sales in my store as well as craft fairs
+go to my first craft fair

Re: New Year's Resolutions

I love the QUIT YOUR DAY JOB part Tiffany !!! & visiting family in California. That's something I need to do too, now that I don't have to ask someone if I can go somewhere!

Re: New Year's Resolutions

And also congrats on your wedding too!! How exciting! I just recently got married in December (12.16.11), which is our 6-year anniversary as well. Yay, we didn't have to remember a new "date" lol.

Re: New Year's Resolutions

Ok ,here are my Goals for the year.

FOR BUSINESS

1.Post at least 2 or more items a week on etsy.
2.Have an over abundance of inventory made.
3.Set up my shed that hubby built for me. He put shelving and peg board on walls. So now what I want to do is fix it up so I can just go in and grab something that has sold and ship it. Will take some time to do this.
4.promote more.
5.Start developing my crafting home party business.

PERSONAL

1.Get healthy...Having rhumetiod arthrithis puts a damper sometimes on crafting. Need to keep moving so no stiffness occurs.
2.spend more time with hubby, my biggest supporter.
3.fix up inside of our house...redecorate and paint.

Re: New Year's Resolutions

I want to expand the range of products I offer, so apart from jewellery I would like to have some clothes, children items, bags and more craft for blind people.
