July Goals

New month, new goals!
What are you hoping to achieve this month?

My goals are:
- double last year's revenue (a huge one this month as last July was amazing, but I really want to push myself)
- have a successful CIJ sale
- get a good balance between work and study when I start my new course in a couple of weeks.

Re: July Goals

Hi Mon!

For this shop:
- Double last last yrs revenue. We're so much better prepared for CIJ and the start of the Christmas season than we were last year.
- successful CIJ sale as well :D
- stalk out a new market and book in if we like what we see!

For the prints shop:
(as well as the market thing)
- 30 sales - we've done well the last few months
- lots of new content
- successful CIJ sale here too!

Re: July Goals

Although this is supposed to be my 'slower' time of the year, my sales overall are up well over last year.

My plans for July are to try to keep building the shop so that I do have enough stock to get me through the crazy fall season.

Congrats Mon on reaching another milestone in the shop! Well done!

Re: July Goals

I'd like to have 27 sales which will put me at 400. I'd also like to have over 150 listings.

Re: July Goals

My goal is to start selling again!!
I was so busy last month with family commitments and I'm afraid my shop suffered, but things are on the up now so I am just going to throw myself back into everything!!
Take plenty of photos of my new stock as well.

Re: July Goals

Hi there! My shop is only 2 weeks old and I've only had 1 sale--so I'm hoping to increase my sales to a steady level, create better and more relevant tags, and improve my photos. If anyone stops by my shop and has advice, please let me know :) Thanks!

Re: July Goals

I am really trying to make this the month where I get myself off of the ground and move towards making my craft a significant part of my life. Sooo... some smaller goals.

Participate in the daily listing challenge.
Twice a week postings on my blog.
Twice a week postings on my fb page.
Participate in/book at least 1 craft fair.
Organizing the financial and legal aspect of my business.

Re: July Goals

Hello everyone.

My goals for July are to stock my inventory, so I am not going crazy for the holidays. It would be nice to enjoy them instead of rushing around trying to finish orders.

Re: July Goals

Kinda excited for July, June is normally a slow month but for being slow I kept pretty steady revenue. And July is already starting off good!

Goals:
-reach 900 sales
-Double last July's revenue
-Post on Blog at least twice/week
-Redo party set photos
-Get clipart and paper pack listings to 75
-Have a successful July promotion

Re: July Goals

July is kind of crazy for me!

- Prepare for (& attend) the big art fest here in Erie (Erie Summer Arts Fest)
- Finish commissioned illustrations for a new big project
- Plan new round of painting classes (create sample paintings)
- Start adding "sets" of prints to my store

The first 3 are very time sensitive and I have to finish them this week! Ahhh! (Why am I on the forums??)

Re: July Goals

Aside from the usual of getting ready for fashion shows/vending/photo shoots I want to make a better effort for my blog. Revive it a bit.
Also, I want to get a good inventory going so I can open a second shop next month.

Re: July Goals

I'm beginning to wonder about July being a 'slow' time of year. I've been comparing my mid month figures to last year's for the same time and so far I'm ahead.

I've been trying to increase the amount of stock that I carry but that's just not happening so far as every time I add new things, I sell out of others.

Re: July Goals

Yay for being ahead, crochetgal!
I've decided to just not believe in anything people say on the forums about slow and busy times, and trust my own stats on the matter. It's not summer everywhere in the world, not everyone is off on holidays.
And my stats certainly show that isn't true because again this July is my strongest month of the year, and the majority of my sales have been to the US.

btw, I am loving the shop stats thing with the graph line showing last year's stats in comparison to this year. I can see now that I have definite trends from month to month, even though I've made more each month than the year before. It's quite reassuring actually.

So far I am on track to double last July's revenue, or at least get very close. I've already made more than what I made last July, and this month has become the best month I've had on Etsy ever. My CIJ sale has been a complete success, but we'll see how much sales drop off when it ends tomorrow. Last year I had a quiet couple of days and then it bounced back, so I'm hoping I'll see the same.

Re: July Goals

July was terrible for us last year, and we've done really well with the CIJ sale this year, so it's helped.

Just hoping we can at least sustain a few sales between now and Sept. (which is where our Christmas shoppers started last year) with the new products we've got coming in over the next 2 weeks.

Re: July Goals

Mon, I've got to agree with you there.

Every type of business will have its slower periods as well as its rushes.

I've found that if I continue to do my marketing during my slower times that the customers will remember me when they are ready to make that purchase.

If you really want to do an easy comparison to this time last year, join the shop dashboard prototype
https://www.etsy.com/teams/15239/shop-dashboard
as its got an option where you can compare your figures in more detail from this year to last year.

Re: July Goals

Thanks for that crochetgal, I'll check it out!

Kelly - glad CIJ is working better for you guys this year. August -Oct tend to be my quieter times too, so hopefully we'll both be able to get a decent amount of sales over that time.

Re: July Goals

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the group - and really, quite new to etsy. But I like to dive in!

My goals this month were to

1) Open shop. (Check)
2) Sell something. (Check)
3) Selling something custom made. (Check)
4) Join some teams. (Check)
5) List fifty products. (I'm currently at thirty!)

For the last few days of July, I really want to finish off listing those fifty products - and work on my tags, seo, etc.

So that's me....um...hello! :)

Re: July Goals

How did everyone go last month?

I didn't double my revenue from last july, but I did beat it by 60%, so I am very happy. It was my best month ever on Etsy.
I had a successful CIJ sale that helped with that.
As for school/work/life balance, still working on that one! I'm feeling very behind with everything!

Re: July Goals

We did fairly well! It slowed right down for us in the last week tho.. so:

For the photo shop:
- Double last last yrs revenue. We're so much better prepared for CIJ and the start of the Christmas season than we were last year. (tripled!)
- successful CIJ sale as well :D (sucess!)
- stalk out a new market and book in if we like what we see! (stalked, applied and on tomorrow!!)

For this shop:
(as well as the market thing)
- 30 sales - we've done well the last few months (made it to 21, not tooo bad!)
- lots of new content (nope, market prep got in the way)
- successful CIJ sale here too! (definitely!)
