At the half way point...

Here we are at the half way point through 2013 . Have you taken good look at your business plan to see if you are on track for meeting your targets for the year?

I was quite surprised when I looked at mine for the second quarter this morning. I managed to meet or exceed all the goals that I had for the quarter so for the third quarter I'm setting higher goals.

What about you?

Re: At the half way point...

Tax wise my year has just ended, so while I have a yearly overlook, I tend to look at things more from a financial year.
I had a good year, I doubled my Etsy sales, which is good because a lot of my external revenue options have ended for various reasons. This is my primary source of income so it has to work. I didn't reach my yearly goal, but that's okay because I tend to over extend my goals so that it forces me to push myself that little bit further.

As for the next six months, new things are happening so I'm keeping my goals to mostly basic revenue ones for the moment while I get a routine going. I'm starting a Masters by correspondence in two weeks, and I'm off to Singapore in November to trade at a doll show, so I have to work on those things whilst keeping my Etsy store full and profitable. Let's hope I can do it and not burn myself out!

Re: At the half way point...

We've had a crap run the last few weeks but on the mend now, so planning on sorting our 12/13 tonight and seeing exactly where we're at. We know the prints shop has boomed, but it's this one we're needing to look at really closely. Plans afoot though to change our fortunes here hopefully!

Re: At the half way point...

I'm getting there... I kind of hit a snag when my grandmother passed away and I didn't feel like doing anything for quite a few weeks. Finally getting back into the swing of things...

I hope to have steady sales for my shop by the end of the year. Then that will be about 2 years that I've been doing art full-time so hopefully it will start paying off :)

Re: At the half way point...

sorry about your Grandmother Heather. But remember that family always comes before work.

Kelly & Adam, sounds like you have things under control!

Re: At the half way point...

Well, I kinda dreaded checking my list from the start of the year to see where I was, as I know I haven't gotten as much done as I wanted. But I did look anyway!

I was able to check off some things on my list - like getting exhibits set up for my work. I've also made good progress on my website. I'm not at the halfway point for my total( a little over a quarter way) but I did estimate big - I'm actually over half way of what I originally planned as my goal! :-) But the good news is, I've already made more on Etsy then I did last year. So I should hopefully at least double my Etsy totals this year!

Now to get myself in gear to cross more off my list!

Re: At the half way point...

I've checked my numbers as well to ensure that things are on target for the busier months to come.

I've met my goals thus far and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to keep growing. I'm thinking that I may set the bar higher for the remainder of the year to see what I'm made of....just hope I don't bite off more than I can chew.

Wishing everyone continued success!!

Re: At the half way point...

I had a very nice surprise today in that I was featured in the Etsy Finds called 'making the list'!

It hasn't brought me any sales, but it has brought me a number of new followers.

Re: At the half way point...

I haven't had too much of a high expectation for myself since I can't put in nearly as much time into this as I'd like.

My sales have gone sooooooo slow so I figured by the time August started that perhaps I'll have hit at least 5 sales. I'm almost to 10 already! I hope I can get more stock going on so I can continue growing that number. Although I had hoped the numbers would have been higher considering how long I have been here but then again, my stock isn't exactly in the hundreds.

Re: At the half way point...

I'm definitely not on target and I doubt that I will reach my goals for 2013. We had some troublesome health issue within my family that threw me back, but I don't think this is an excuse for everything. I am having a hard look at my store - I still haven't figured out how to get more traffic etc. I'm re-working titles and tags at the moment to hopefully have a better second half of the year.
