This isn't so much a help question as it is a rant that doesn't fit anywhere else. I need to rant about my on campus post office, which really frustrated me this morning:
I went in to drop off a package for an order and also pick up two packages that had come in. I dropped off the box and said it was already paid for (I do it all the time and they have always taken it without question). There was a lengthy back and forth because they were convinced I hadn't paid the right shipping price for it, or that I hadn't paid at all, and that I had NO IDEA that it was in a flat rate box that requires a separate shipping price from the weight of the package. They even tried to UNBOX my package and put it in a new box while this was going on. They only stopped and took it when I explained I sell stuff online and the website allows you to purchase and print a shipping label, and that I had in fact purchased a shipping label for a medium flat rate box for the price of 12.65 (Etsy is 11.95 now, but if I said 11.95 they would have questioned me more, so I just said the normal rate). The non-student supervisor did not seem to believe me, and even though they took it I wouldn't doubt it if the order arrives in a different box.
Afterwards, they had to run all over the place to find the packages that I was there to pick up. As I signed for them the student helping me told me that I shouldn't be shipping with that when my packages are so light, because it is so much more expensive. Afterwards I had to explain to her that flat rate boxes make it easier for the customer and I because there is no weighing involved, I can guarantee a shipping cost, and with that shipping I can guarantee fast shipping, insurance, and tracking. Both her and the supervisor actually rolled their eyes at me.
I know that with the last comment the student was trying to help me save money, but I have NEVER had anyone question my shipping methods, or the validity of my pre-purchased labels. The entire situation could have been handled SO MUCH better by the staff involved.
UGH I am so irritated.
As for the customer, I have already messaged her saying only that due to troubles with the post office her package may arrive in a different box than expected, and I asked her to message me telling me so if it did.
Ok. Rant over. What would you have done in this situation? What should I do if the package arrives in a different box?

Also I am still quite new to this and have yet to have any sales I am working on getting my photos better and maybe my prices are too high but if yall could check out my shop and give some feedback I would be so grateful! And how do the coupons work are they worth it? Will it take away from my profits? Thank you so much in advance.

Hello! I am new on Etsy! and have some problems... Could anybody help me please?
I always use calculating shipping and always ship by first class mail, but my last listings were bought through priority mail, i didn't see it or didn't understand, i don't know how it was happened, but i purchased and printed USPS label through first class mail instead of priority mail. I am pretty worried, because i am new on Etsy and I don't want to start from any problems, so I don't know what to do. And also two of my listings (which i sent by mistake through different shipping method) is in Departed USPS Facility for 3-4 days and don't move and one of my listing is available for pick up, but buyer doesn't pick it up, so the item is still not delivered. Could you please give me advice or what to do in this case?

You're doing everything right that I can see off the bat.

Consistent, great photos. Good descriptions.

Your About could use a bit more information, a bit more personality, a bit more story.

You've got a LOT of listings, also good.

Policies seem fine.

I can't tell how close together you're doing your shop updates, but if you're posting a bunch in a day, or very close together, that won't drive consistent traffic. Space them out more regularly.

If you're not connected to other social media and sharing your shop updates and listings to other forms of social media, do it.

I am new to this entire online thing. Hired someone to do a site for my established (30+ years) company, and decided I wanted to try my hand at some online sales myself.
Being new to the entire e Commerce thing, I am not sure of how I am doing, especially with my shop here on Etsy.
I am trying to make my listing appear enticing on my page, and juggle them around a few times a week, trying to find the best looking presentation for when people first see my store front.
Being that I sell seeds, I am trying to take the best pictures, IE: most colorful, best looking, and showiest pics I can t display what they will look like once grown.
My question is, have I finally found the best way to display what I am doing? (I have no color ordination or taste - I have been told....) Since Etsy doesn't allow you to mimic your own site: color, font, etc; I am trying to make my shop here stand on its own, but haven't had any really helpful feedback yet.
If anyone wouldn't mind, I would really like some new eyes to tell me if I am doing anything right, wrong, or that I am on the right track.

I am curious abotu some things that are accepted or not so much so on Etsy.
Since I am new here, and on the entire online thing in general, I don't know if I am doing some things right or offending people by doing some things.
Question 1:
When someone likes my store (Not an item), I go to that notification and follow their profile, like their shop, and send them a coupon for XX% off items in my shop.
Is this an acceptable practice? Am I offending people in general by reaching out to them and doing this, or is it an OK practice to continue.
Question #2: When printing out an order, I have it set up to offer a coupon for future discounts here on Etsy, as well as a message for an additional discount from my site. I also have an insert that I include that has other offers [Seasonal, holiday, species specific (I primarily sell seed.)] This also includes a schedule with where I will be attending Farmers Markets, Shows, and other venues.
I guess being so new to this, I don't know if I am going over the top or just being normal.

Hi everyone! I read through some previous posts and see that I pretty much have the same questions as a lot of other teamies -
What should I do to improve my shop in order to attract more customers / sales? I read etsy articles about proper descriptions, photos, SEO, tags, etc., and thought I was following all those advise and guidelines, but my sales are pretty scarce, with some weeks better than others. My reviews are very good too, all my customers love my products and quite a few come back for more. But this week, for example, I had no sales at all.

Any feedback and advise would be greatly appreciated!!!

I need help Please on setting up shipping for multiple items on my etsy account. for example....

If your selling one item at a time but the customer buys two or three of that item, how do you get the shipping cost to change in the cart? I've notice that a lot of etsy stores have it set up that way... I just can't figure out how to do it....
