Mixed Markets

Hey folks. Thanks for reading! I’m a fairly new Etsy seller but my wife has been a seller for many years. I’ve built my shop over the last three months and have approximately 175 items listed.

The question I have is Concerning product mix. My wife’s shop is one category, hand made jewelry, however with my shop I have essentially two distinct types of product,  One category appeals to a niche market (Land Cruiser Enthusiasts)  and the other is a more generic product designed to appeal to a broader audience.

As experienced Etsy sellers do you feel that this approach of having concurrent channels will hurt my ongoing business?

In other words people that are sent to my site looking for one thing may arrive and see something completely different.

Is that something in your experience that you think could hurt my long-term business?

Would it be better to open a second shop to separate the two categories of merchandise ?

Thanks in advance for all the help!!
