Huge drop in sales, views, and favorites.... even wih adverising?!?! PLEASE HELP!!!

I've had my shop here on Etsy for quite a few years now and sales have NEVER been so slow! I haven't had a sale in about 3 weeks; and the majority of my income comes from my shop, so things are not good. Any help I can get would be sincerely appreciated! You aren't alone, my sales have dropped too.  I'm paying more than 30% of my earnings to marketing, postage and fees.  I also noticed that many folks are copying my descriptions and copying my art work that was once one of a kind.....  Any advise would be appreciated.

Drastic! Is the word to describe the decrease in sale activity.  Even the visitor stats are extremely low. A few "favorites"in weeks where as before it used to be a few "favorites" a day. Can't  market to visitors (leads) if you don't have them. I will trying out some guerilla marketing I used before using Etsy marketing. I've been on Etsy a number of years and this is the worst activity level I've seen. Does anyone have any insight to what is going on?

One thing I've noticed is Etsy's lack of advertising. Thred-Up, The Real Real, Poshmark, they all are advertising. My sales have dropped too and so has my positive attitude toward succeeding on Etsy. I feel like a kicked dog, after 4 years of busting my ass to build my business on Etsy I feel like I picked the wrong venue to invest in. The constant changes in operations that just don't seem to be geared for a small business owner has gotten really old. The free shipping demands they've shoved down our throats to compete has taken away any profits I use to see. There is no such thing as free shipping for a small vintage clothing business. I'm not happy to see I am not alone. I feel your pain. I don't see Etsy as a company that cares about it's store owners anymore. Funny how 3 years ago I felt the opposite. I don't recommend people to sell on Etsy anymore. Sorry about the negativity, wish I had something good to say but I'm broke and burned out from trying. The holiday season brought no increased sales what-so-ever.

Thanks ShopPortland Vintage for sharing. There are customers out there if only we can find the effective marketing venues. I am going to be spending many hours finding the ones aside from Etsy. I've been here before and Etsy used to really be working. Has their competition affected affected our sales and visitor activity that much?

Every business goes through a period of development, prosperity and decline.
The Internet is also changing. Looking for effective sites is useless. There are cheap sites with a minimum commission. You can put a thing before sale, for free, and pay a minimum after sale. There is no other way for small sellers.

Etsy blocked also some minerals they consider as toxic. Well, no mineral collector will eat or lick them.

Wish I could give you some good news but my sales are down about 33% from 2018.  I have tried everything to bring them back up.  It has been said that it is because Etsy has so many more sellers now.  Guess we recommended Etsy to tooooo many people.  I used to recommend it to everyone and even helped some people build new shops.  I would NOT recommend Etsy to a new seller now.  I would tell them it is a a waste of their time.  I used to make 18 to 22 sales per day.  A slow day was 7 or 8.  Lately, that has been a high day.  I hate all the changes but don't know what we can do.  I have a website on (www.supadupa.me).  You can download your products for free from Etsy.  You then have to go back and set your variants and prices.  I had this site since 2014.  I sometimes make more sales on my site than on Etsy.  It is based in UK and I also get lots of sales form AU and UK, France, Germany and others.  Price is very reasonable. about 30.00 per month with 1 month free trial.  I am not sure Etsy is going to change for the better any time soon.  They say their sales are up for 2019 so I guess it is working for them.  Certainly not working for me.  They are not finished with forcing things on us.  More advertising surprises are coming.............:(

i can relate...

i dont even have visitors, and i used to be featured in newsletters and front pages all the time.... maybe it is because i moved my brand to my own website at xzouix.com and i only sell vintage here, but it is designer vintage...

i  wonder where all the people went , is anyone shopping here anymore?
