Stumbling yourself

Any thoughts on Stumbling your own items? I've seen mixed opinions on whether you should Stumble yourself or not. I mix it up also, as I Stumble many others and it's not that many of my own items in comparison. I've been thinking of Stumbling my items first before I ask to have the team trade Stumbles.

One of the reasons for this is that I don't think a lot of people have the time or inclination to leave a full review with loaded tags. I've found that when I Stumble my own item first and give it a lot of good tags and review, that I seem to get more views. I think it is that they may get categorized better and less likely to get lost.

Re: Stumbling yourself

Just be careful, stumble frowns on stumbling of our own products, they have been know to close accounts. I am not sure of the particulars, whether once in awhile is alright, or not at all. If you can, check the rules and regulations on stumble, if you can find them. I am going to go and check myself to see if I can find anything.

OK. Thanks so much. I'll go through and read the rules and regulations more thoroughly now.

Re: Stumbling yourself

I stumble my own items so they get the tags and descriptions filled out. When I stumble anyone else's items, I fill the tags and review section as best I can. I have noticed that items with no description and only one tag do not get increased views from SU, so those really need to be filled in.

Re: Stumbling yourself

I do stumble items from my own shop - But I do stumble others and many, many non-etsy sites. I think the key is not to turn your account into complete self-promotion.

Re: Stumbling yourself

You would think that if you mixed it up enough they wouldn't notice. I've never stumbled myself before, but I think I will try it and see what happens :)

Re: Stumbling yourself

How do you get around the limit of only being able to Stumble so many items from a page?

Re: Stumbling yourself

I thoguht that I would use Stumbleupon for a while, stumble other shops and lots of other pages I like, and then I'd eventually stumble myself. You just have to use it somewhat fairly, that is really stumble things that you like.
