Need a basic tutorial of how to Stumble someone's site and write a review

I have no idea what I am doing. All I know how to do is hit the stumble button and the thumbs up, and follow people.

To start, you need to download the toolbar from the stumbleupon website. Then to stumble someone's page, or item, or basically anything on the web with an image - you just click the thumb up (I like it!) button. It will have you put in tags and a review, if it hasn't been done before. If someone has already reviewed, if you like it, you've stumbled it on your page too.

So you'll basically stumble and use the toolbar when you are on that person's listing page.

There's a lot more little stuff to learn, but that can get you started.

I downloaded the toolbar for firefox... but it only say start stumbling or sign in. I can't figure out how to like a webpage.

What browser should I use? Please help!

I deleted the SU toolbar from my browser (Firefox), just because it's taking up too much space. However, to stumble someone I just right-click on a picture and press "Stumble" in the drop down menu.

Edited: I mean, I hid it, not deleted completely.

Janeane you have explained it the best of anyone, and I've been online most of the day trying to figure it out.

One question though, I was following a few people, but when I clicked to follow more a message popped up saying Error: null, have you heard of that before?

I don't have the toolbar either - But if you look in the bottom left corner on your stumbleupon profile page, there is an "add a new page" link - you can copy and paste the url for the item you want to add. Stumbleupon just updated its look so its a little harder to find, but that is how I add favorites when I'm promoting y'all.

Just wanted to thank you for your help... so glad I found this team. :)

I finally found a way to install the toolbar for Internet Explorer through a google search. The link on stmbleupon would not work for me.

If anyone else is having this issue... here is the link I used that finally worked for me!

Hi everyone, so I answered this question elsewhere and I'm pasting here as well.

Hi there! Several threads are open for adding our items or shop for others to stumble, check them out, stumble the item before you and then add your item for others to stumble.
Here's how:

-Download stumble toolbar first (a toolbar will open with every browser you open, making it easier for you to stumble sites you like)
www.stumbleupon.com/addon <-- this is for Chrome, if you use any other browser, just go to google and type in 'download stumbleupon toolbar for ---- ' and you'll get the link.

-Once your toolbar appears on your browser locate the 'thumbs up' button on the upper left corner right next to the stumble button. The stumble button will take you to a different page, so you only want to click on the 'thumbs up' when you want to stumble someones page. Sometimes as soon as you click thumbs up another page opens and asks for a review + tags for the item you liked. It is essential that you a write a short one line review and the appropriate tags for the item otherwise the page is lost in stumbleupon world and no one will be able to find it.

-Many other times when you click on the thumbs up, nothing happens except for a change in color of the button, going from blue to green indicating that the item is now in your favorites. You then click on your favorites (upper right corner) and you'll see the items you have been stumbling there.

-Hover over the item and on the lower right corner on the image a bubble appears, click on that and you'll be able to write a review+tags.

And THAT'S IT! Haha.. I promise it is nowhere as complicated or lengthy as it appears here. I'm just too wordy. Once you do it a couple of times you'll get the hang of it and it becomes very easy.

One more tip:

-Stumble sites other than etsy and etsy shops since stumbleupon considers stumbling only one site spam and after a period of time you will get locked out. So while you stumble pages/items here make sure you browse the net and check out some other cool stuff out there.

It is now 2a.m and that's all I can think of. I'll add more if anything comes to mind but these are the basics and you should be on your stumbling way!
