How to Chase Outside Sales

Most of you spend your days on ETSY link dropping like 90% of the other shops here. Which is most times effective depending on what you sell, but if you really want to expand your reach we have a few places you can do it and probably haven't thought of .

Hit craigslist!

Post a bit about your shop, but the trick is to post in different states in the category your items fit in best. Include a link to your store, some images of your products and a brief bio. You can even have them contact you from your craigslist post. Posting in other states is great because you never know who might see your items, and further promote you. AND ITS FREE!

Hit EBAY

You don't need to sell your products on ebay, just sell your shop! Ebay has a very powerful advertising platform, which means your items will almost always sell due to the way they push your products in front of shoppers. This is great for two things, either selling your items directly on ebay or simply using it as an ad space.

Use our listing for example:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321571627527?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

We aren't actually selling anything, we are looking to drive shoppers from ebay to our shop, and its landing us a couple hundred extra views a day at no cost.

9 times out of 10 shops fail, because their owners fear success more than failure.

Re: How to Chase Outside Sales

Could you please explain a bit more how to post your shop/ items on Craigslist?

Also has anyone heard of Voab or Wanelo? Are these real places or spams?

Thanks SO much!

Re: How to Chase Outside Sales

If you visit craigslist you simply click the location you would like to post in and on the left side click "post to classifieds", then list a few pictures of the various items you carry in your shop, create a title for your listing, and simply put the listing at 1$ because its required to put a price. Then include a brief bio about your shop and a link to visit.

As for the two sites you were referring too, voab i have never heard of.. and wanelo is a legit website, but another place i have not ventured into yet.

Re: How to Chase Outside Sales

I've attempted the Craigs list idea and out of my 10+ posts, 5 have already been flagged for removal. I think there is a rule against posting a link to one's website. Some cities are tightly monitored. Any ideas about getting around this?

Re: How to Chase Outside Sales

Make sure you dont include you real address or location.. Just pretend your in the area.. when an item on craigslist is flagged it is by a visitor, not craigslist itself.
