Just a few observations.
If you favorite a card it goes into your News feed. Then everyone that follows you can see it.
If you favorite things in different folders they don't count as favorites. So I stopped putting things in folders. Or I put them in both places.
I always favorite inside when I'm viewing a card. Not sure why it isn't connected to the list. So sometimes I put a heart on it in both places.
