Photos/mock-ups for printables?

I'm hoping you all have some thoughts on this. I have a dilemma in trying to figure out how to represent my products. I sell digital invitations. Etsy has great info on photographing physical items but not on displaying digital ones.

I've played around with a couple different ways, such as:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/150587009/printable-illuminated-wedding-invitation?ref=shop_home_active

or, actually printing and photographing (but is that confusing to a buyer?)

What works? What doesn't? I'd love some input. I've taken my little brain as far as she'll go :).

Ashleigh - I typically do the first way {cuts cost way down} but if you have the ability to do the second way (printing them) I think it does them more justice. It's sometimes hard to show the quality of something "digital"

I hope that makes sense.

If you do print your items I would make sure to add DIGITAL ITEM all over the listing to ensure no confusion.

There are resources you can use online, PSD. file mock ups that make it look like you've printed them out without losing the quality.

Kirstie, I had no idea these existed... they're wonderful! I have started printing and photographing them (I can do it all at home, just takes time) but I will keep these in mind for other projects I work on. Thanks!
