Prices all over the place

I sometimes feel unsure about the prices I set for my hair accessories in my shop because when I browse, the prices jump so much. A hair bow around the same size or that looks similar can be $2 or $15.

I don't want to have a price that makes my items seem cheap, but I don't want to ask for too high an amount. Would you say I've set my prices appropriately? Or should go higher? Lower?

I think you should raise your prices. Your bows are all very cute and look well made. I would pay $8-$10 for the basic ones. You could charge $12 for the larger ones. You have a variety of other headbands and things that I think could also use a price increase. You want to make sure people see your items and the price reflects the quality and time you put in. Cute stuff, hope that helps! Good luck

I actually think your prices are pretty good as they are, but you could probably go a bit higher. If the range you are finding is $2-$15, then yours are somewhere in the middle so I don't think buyers would think they are cheap, and they also won't be put off by prices that are too high.

I know the prevailing wisdom is to always go high because it is said to reflect quality and how much you value your work, but it also needs to be reasonable compared to what like items are selling for (when comparing apples to apples and not apples to oranges, so to speak).

Some good advice I got a while back is to not price items for what you would pay because you aren't your market. Price them for those who can't or don't want to do what you do and are willing to pay a good price for them.

I also think your prices are about right. If they are embellished you could go a bit higher. I think you have average prices.
For example this one could got a bit higher. http://www.etsy.com/listing/98245880/purple-roses-pearls-and-glitter-cluster

As for prices, you often read advice to raise them, but I do not think that is right for everything. For many of my items I was pricing them similar to what others are doing. But I had no sales, so I lowered them a little recently and starting making sales.

You may just have to play around with your prices to see what works for you. Try different price ranges to see if you make some sales.

Thanks everyone! :) I've decided to increase my prices just a bit and see how that goes. If sales get very good I might just bump it up to the $8-$10 range.
