Price of my dolls

Would anyone mind please taking a look at the prices of my grandma's dolls that I sell in my shop?
I was selling them for less (less postage too) but I have had to increase the prices after the first few sales reaped little profit...

Re: Price of my dolls

This is wicked cute....but i got to say...$40 is way out of my comfort range for a doll with glued on eyes. Why not get eyes that are sew-on? then no worries. Without the eyes the doll is ruined.

Re: Price of my dolls

AHA. THE DOLLS ARE HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I assumed from the preview image the doll was about 5" tall. I swear i even read your description and re-thinking it now i do remember seeing the word 12".....but that did not register with me at ALL.

But i clicked on this doll here:

and the picture of the girls playing with the doll---the dolls are HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!! WELL WORTH the $40!!!!!!!!!

You MUST take pictures of the dolls that show their SCALE and post at least a couple as the main image in your shop!! Because if i wasn't focused on finding something to critique...i would have thought these tiny overpriced dolls were not worth my while...!

and...you can nix the word handmade as the first word in the title...we KNOW they are handmade...describe the doll uniquely in the first three words so i don't have to click on every one to see what the differences are...that just annoys me and i will leave your shop quickly (speaking from the typical shopper reactions)

and having an inset pic of the topsy turvy doll with the reverse doll image would be SUPER AWESOME

Re: Price of my dolls

thanks for the help! That clown is the only doll with glue on eyes (I'm not sure why my grandma did that), the rest have sewed on thread eyes.

Yeah they are pretty big. I wonder what I could use to show scale... any ideas?
And I'll definitely change their titles per your suggestions - that's a good idea.
With an inset pic, do you mean a little square in the corner of the reverse doll in the main (first) photo?

Also, I'm not sure how to give the topsy turvy individual titles because I only distinguish them by their colours. I also have started giving them names, but I'm only putting those in the description (not he titles).
I wish I had all day 5 days a week on this - it took me a while to get the dolls ready and listed and I go back to school/uni next week. *sigh*

Re: Price of my dolls

Would a photo like this be good for showing scale? It's a big picture book.

Re: Price of my dolls

No..that book could look small. The picture of the children holding it is GREAT! But certainly not the best for a preview image. I would suggest the doll sitting on a kitchen chair? or perhaps a child's bedroom prop..like the night stand or the bed..? ...hmm...i like the kitchen chair idea more and more actually.

and yes an inset picture in the corner...so i can see immediately it's two dolls in one!
