Hi all, I'm pretty new to etsy selling.. I've tried to price my items similarly to other listings I see on here, but I find I'm getting a decent number of views, but only 3 sales. I'm not sure if it's because I sell somewhat seasonal items, or I'm too expensively priced. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Ruth, I'm new to etsy as well. I'm having the same issues as you, I'm not too sure about my pricing. I've adjusted it a few times but still not getting any sales. I've tried a few different formulas which was recommended but still not sure.

If someone can have a look at my prices too that would be awesome!

Warning: I'm a newbie too.. Just my humble thoughts here. :)

I clicked into your shop front page and found that the background of the pictures have quite a few colors. It might be just my problem being too sold on the typical product photography - pure white background. Could it be the viewers didn't stay in your shop long enough to have noticed your great crochet work?

Your crocheted scarf seems under-priced. I clicked into https://www.etsy.com/listing/176979126/textured-stripe-scarf-with-tassels-ready?ref=shop_home_active... and was shocked that you charged just $25. I don't know how to crochet but I have knitted a scarf before. It took me many hours + shoulder pain to knit to the length shown in your picture. Then I wondered "is the scarf machine-made?? Is it cheap stuffs from China?".

Hi Noel, Thank you so much for you feedback- it's been super helpful!
It's funny that you picked that scarf as an example- I'm always afraid of overpricing things that didn't take me too long to make, but if it's cheap enough that you thought "made in china?" I think I definitely need to adjust my pricing a little.
Thank you also for the thoughts about the photography. I do struggle with getting good pictures (it's just not my talent), so I think i'll just have to do a little research and take better ones on white backgrounds!

i DO crochet and i know that if we charged for materials and more than about $0.25 an hour for labor, everyone's eyes would pop out.
but we CAN'T keep giving stuff away!

Though I have been here several months I have had few sales. I see many other tote bags and purses for lots more money selling a lot. SO I also don't know if it is the price--which is very reasonable. ANy ideas?

Often the prices are not the (only) cause of poor sales.
Join the community of Etsy? Create some Treasury, are you active on social networks, do you advertise your Etsy shop at events in your area, such as flea markets and craft fairs? Do you take clear and accurate picture of the product you wish to sell? Are the descriptions and tags ok?
There are too many products similar to yours for sale on Etsy? (This for example is the big problem for those who sell jewelry ..)
