General pricing tips to help out
1. Don't forget to include materials, labor, packaging into your costs.
MATERIALS- the exact cost of the items you used to make your item (ex. calculate exact the price for 3 beads and 2 feet of wire)
LABOR- How much you charge YOURSELF. Usually this is a per hour price. Remember if you provide quality work you deserve to be paid that way. To help calculate time use an online stopwatch such as this-
http://www.online-stopwatch.com/PACKAGING- Unless your just throwing your items in the envelope it ships in you need to calculate how much it costs for that jewelry box, organza bag or whatever else you use. Try to keep it simple but still make the customer feel special about the item they receive.
2. Make sure your comfortable with your prices.
3. Remember only YOU can truly price your items.
4. Don't forget FEES Etsy has a .20 and a 3.5% sales fee, paypal also has a fee.
5. Figure out your shipping. Calculate the shipping fee (postage) and the cost of the packaging itself (envelope/box etc) and use that as your shipping fee. If you want to always have "free" shipping include the cost into your item price.
