I need your help.

Hello fellow Team members!

This will be a long post, and please, if you do not agree with what I am asking please do not post a negative comment, just move along the discussion board. Thanks!

My step daughter is 5 years old, she has a Fetal alcohol Spectrum Disorder as well as Reactive Attachment Disorder. Her bio-mom binge drank all three trimesters, smoked marijuana and cigarettes, then abandoned her with my husband until he took her to court to force parenting time on her. Now, at the time my husband thought he was doing the right thing by forcing her mother into her life, but now as w have the diagnosis, and are living the struggles, he wishes he could go back and change this decision.

Her biological Mother still has three days of custody of her, these three days are in the middle of the week to better suite her "party" lifestyle and were set up when my step-daughter was 1 year old. Now that she is five it is interfering with school. You would think that this would be a simple fix, but it is not. This past year, she went to two different pre-schools, and if you are familiar with FASD or RAD you will know how difficult this is, Heck, even if you are not and you have a normal child, you will know how difficult this would be on them.

We have jumped through so many hoops trying to get her proper diagnosis from the right people in order for friend of the court, cps and the courts to listen to us, we have paid so much money in court fees, gas money, doctor bills and the lot and now we are at our final court date and our lawyer tells us we need another $1,000 to get into the court room to gain a normal custody schedule for her.

Now, I don't know the rules on asking for donations on Etsy, and honestly this is my last resort, posting here, so please don't report this post or feel like you need to tell me what is what. I am in desperation here. Also, to put your mind at rest, I am real and not a scam I promise.

We have raised $250 of our $1,000 goal, and we really need the help and support of other parents who can put themselves in our situation. Even a dollar would help. A percentage of your sale, anything you can think of honestly.

I have a blog that details our experience more in depth if this short post speaks to you. You can find it here: http://everythinglooksfine.blogspot.com/

Our donation page can be found here: http://www.gofundme.com/38xv6c

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
