Re: trouble with foils.

Oh, those are such a pain! They have to be burnished on, and what I discovered worked really well was heat. I would keep a heating pad next to me, and constantly put my hands on it before rubbing. And they still take a really long time to transfer. So that's my suggestion/tip - heat up your hands, or whatever you are using to burnish. good luck!

Re: trouble with foils.

Lisa says the trick is heat rather than force. What's worked for me is rubbing fast without pressing down hard. Using paper to burnish is important. Make sure the clay has just been conditioned so it's warm too. Finally, it takes much longer than 30 seconds to achieve the right look, and I always have to go back and re-due some little parts. Best wishes!

Re: trouble with foils.

Whenever I use them I always end up with a distressed look :) I can never achieve a full transfer either. Here's an example of a partial transfer that I made work =-D

Re: trouble with foils.

Have you tried heating the foil with a heat gun? I have never tried these foils, but I used to heat my Lazertron transfers before putting them on the clay.
