is it normal for gloss to take paint off painted polymer clay charms when accidently touched?

lately I've been trying to paint some of my charms and I'm noticing that when I dip them and they've dried a little, if for whatever reason the gloss is touched while it's starting to get tacky, it'll drag the paint where it was touched right along with it, leaving a spot from the clay underneath.

sometimes this'll happen when I got to check the bottom of the charm to see if I need to remove excess from the bottom and my finger or the hanger I'm hanging it on might touch the charm somewhere

I'm just wondering how normal this is since I didn't think the gloss would effect dried paint like that :/

for the record I'm using Basic brand acrylic paint and min wax right now since no stores near me carry verathane.

also, when I have pastel dust on my charms, the gloss will make the dust kind of bleed. like while drying if I have to dab some off the bottom, the gloss that comes off will be the color of the pastel I used. this will happen even during the second and third coat for some colors, like blue or green. so is that normal as well?

I would say as far as tacky gloss taking off dried paint goes, that's probably normal. The gloss is gripping the paint, so if it's disturbed before it's dry, it's going to peel the paint off, just like what would happen if you scraped something against unglossed paint on clay.
I've never used pastels on my clay, but I've noticed after sanding areas of clay that have been painted, and then putting a coat of gloss on the clay, it will pick up the bits of sanded off color and change the color of the gloss if I don't get all the bits off.

I agree about the gloss gripping onto the paint while it's drying, and that's why it comes off when you go to check the glaze. After a few minutes you're not supposed to touch the glaze at all, because it's already set too much. If you notice bumps forming after the glaze starts to set maybe you can try sanding the bumpy parts of the gloss off after its dried for a bit and then hand apply a final coat instead of dipping to get a more even texture?

And the pastel thing is completely normal. Just like Alia said, if you have any dust on your charms before you gloss them, the dust will distribute throughout the gloss and mar it. I usually apply pastel before baking the charm so that it'll stick and not come off when I sand and gloss. Also, before glossing I usually wipe down the charms with rubbing alcohol just to make sure everything's off.
