Need help Creating a specific design (logo) with Polymer Clay

Hello Clay Designers!

I am so new to this.. i don't even own a Pasta machine yet!! I just love working with the clay, and I was always the playdoh kid, and still love to play with it with my kids!!

I have been inspired to design jewelry for a very worthy cause, I represent them on a local and national level, so I have their blessing to do this.. their logo is essential so it is necessary.

I am thinking caning is the way to go with this vs making a custom metal cut out? P>S> It is not the easiest logo design.
I would be so grateful for your guidance on this!! Thank you so much in advance :)

I don't do canes, so to me a metal cutout or stamp would be the most accurate way to go, or make a mold.

Still looking for advice on the caning, since that offers ability to bead in different forms.

Try your hand at simpler canework to build your skills before you tackle a complex logo. Use a good brand of fresh clay. Premo, Pardo and Kato are the three brands most people use. There may not be too much selection at your local craft store, so be prepared to order what you need online. There are several great resource sites online, so I encourage you to visit them. Pay particular attention to caning technique, reduction, baking and finishing.

While a pasta machine isn't a must have, it cuts loads of time off conditioning large amounts of clay, makes blending colors a snap and makes consistently even sheets.

I'd also try stamping before deciding which will look best for your project. You can do a lot with a good quality rubber stamp and a little Pearl-Ex or paint. Does the organization you're volunteering for have a local office? Do they have a rubber stamp with the logo? You could ask to borrow it for a day or two to experiment.

I think the same as Amanda: the stamping idea is the simplest way, you can reach a good result easily, especially with faux ceramics technique.
