Re: How can I sell my stuff?

You just opened today so it will take some patience before your shop takes off. I make a banner for your shop, add an avatar photo, and fill in your policies and about page when you get time. I would also suggest working on your pictures as they are somewhat hard to see. Try using a camera with a macro setting so you can get clear, up close pictures. You should also work on building your inventory up so you are found more often in searches. And advertising on social media sites always helps as well.
I wrote an article on a blog a while ago about tips for handmade sellers that you might find useful: http://momsbasement.org/2013/02/27/tips-for-a-successful-handmade-shop-or-how-to-keep-from-being-a-s...
Good luck!

Re: How can I sell my stuff?

I have just opened my shop too, and I've been following Etsy's suggestions for how to get noticed. These include joining teams, putting up noticeable items etc.

I've also found that it's best to try and put up a variety of things and include lots of tags to increase the likelihood of people stumbling across your shop. So far you only have polymer clay monster pendents (which are really good by the way!), but it means that someone will only find your shop if they happen to be looking for similar things. So maybe putting a couple different items up will help people find you.

Good luck!

Re: How can I sell my stuff?

Definitely start with better pictures, if I came across your shop as a buyer right now I would move along pretty quickly. If you don't have a nice camera or phone (I use my iPhone for all my pictures) then your best bet is to take your photos outside in natural light. Wait for a rainy and/or overcast day or right as The sun is going down (for filtered light) and then get snap happy :-) I take hundreds of photos at a time, each from a slightly different angle or distance and then go back through later and pick the best ones. I would nix the prop you're using because its a little too distracting, at first I thought thats what you were selling and then I thought your clay items were attached to it. A white or neutral background is best, and if you must use props make sure you choose ones that will make your pendants stand out rather than overpower them.

Out of focus, dark, distracting pictures can all but guarantee no sales. Your hard work is worth showing off and all the time and effort it takes to get good pictures will be totally worth your time.

Sometimes all the advice can be overwhelming, but if you focus on one thing at a time till its just right then you will end up with a focused, cohesive result at the end. Good luck!
