Flexible clay

I notice some polymer clay bangles being described as flexible to put on but returning to their original shape afterwards. I would love to know what clay will behave like that. I have noticed that some of my thinner Premo items will bend a bit after curing but if bent more than a tiny bit they break. I would find a clay that stays flexible after curing very useful, not just for bangles but also pendants that people (read my family!) insist on sleeping in and sitting on! Maybe they would last a bit longer.
I love polymer clay but am relatively new to it and have a lot to learn. Any help gratefully received!
Thanks, Isabel

Re: Flexible clay

Hi Isabel and Janet.
I don't use flexible clay myself but I do know that Fimo do a version alongside their clasiic and soft ranges (which I do use)
Good luck !
Tim

Re: Flexible clay

I have Sculpey Bake and Flex. I have made some items with it that have come out wonderfully flexible and resistant to breakage (even tried to rip one in half and couldn't.) But I made some other items with it that came out brittle and crumbly after baking. The only thing I did noticeably different was mixed the colors, so there was more conditioning involved. I don't know if that's what caused it, I'm still experimenting with it, but I really love the ones that came out the way they were supposed to!
The flower stem and petals on this sculpture were made with it.

Re: Flexible clay

That's interesting Alia, thank you. I've never heard of that clay and I thought I'd tried them all! I'll give it a go.

Re: Flexible clay

I know it sounds a little strange, but I have used Crayola Model Magic before. I made some bangles for my daughter and her friends. Let it sit, cures in about 24 hrs. Polymer clay though? Never heard of any flexible ones other than Sculpey's eraser clay.
