Clay Rolling Machine Comparisons!

Hi everyone! I've been working with polymer clay for 6 years now and I've always bought the Amaco brand rolling machine. The first one that I ever bought lasted quite a while. I've recently, in the last year, gone through FOUR Of them. Now, when I wrote the company about the first two, they said to ship them in and they'd take a look. Within a week, I received two brand new machines. Great! However, now, I'm dealing with the same issues with it and one has broken and the other is not doing so hot. I'm wondering, does anyone have any advice for chosing a new one? I hate to do it, but Im considering going with another company since this one seems to not be doing so well. I hate to write the company again, after just a few months, and ask them to replace these ones too (they may think I'm abusing them in some way and think I'm just trying to get new machines lol).. So, I've heard alot of great things about Atlas, heard some good/some bad about the electric machines (But I'm leery). I know "You get what you pay for" but sometimes there are many issues that aren't really thought about until later with some of the higher end ones.

I'd like to try to find a machine that doesn't have the covers on the sides (the shields, thin metal pieces) so I can see the clay going through. ONe that the rollers or blades can be removed for easy cleaning without taking the machine apart. Is there one on the market like this?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Clay Rolling Machine Comparisons!

Visit monakissel.com

They modify the Atlas 150 & Atlas 180 machines
They put easily removable metal blades on them and remove the guards.

They're awesome :)

I've had a 180 for years.
