Best finish/sealer?

What is the best finish to use on PAINTED polymer clay?
I have tried a few acrylic ones as I am using acrylic paint but the item goes tacky :/

I use Cernit transparent varnish. As far as I know it didn't become sticky.
I also bake the paint with the clay, and many times I do not consider it needs varnish. But the quantities of paint I use on my pieces, are very small. I do not know what happens. if the layer is thicker.

Re: Best finish/sealer?

Mmmm I will think twice before buying cernit varnish I have a bottle and it get a little sticky, plus it's super shiny, what I actually do it's to use fimo liquid gel as a varnish! It has been the best to me, I just apply one layer and bake for 20 min (just be sure it doesn't touch anything, it has to be hanging in the oven) and the item lasts longer and stays mate... I have tried other varnishes and with the time the item gets dirty or gets sticky or peels off, so the fimo gel for me it's the best until now

I use more and more resin, which is great to protect any surface. If I don't use that, I to use love PYM II. And also polyurethane, but it does tend to leave streaks. The result gets better if I use a makeup sponge.

Kato liquid clay is also great as a finish, it can look as great as resin. Use the heat gun for extra shine and do several thin layers.
