I bought an oven not a toaster oven a small oven for my polymer clay work and i'm having some trouble getting the temperature right . I bought two oven thermometers the first being from sculpey studio which i do not recommended . I brunt my first piece using that one no biggie i'll just paint it . The other one is hard to read . I baked a new piece with the hard to read thermometer I thought i was baking at 275 when i was only baking at 250 for 15 minutes that was over a week ago . I found this out today when i did more baking . Here is the question realizing what had happened I baked it again along with the other works at the right temperature for 15 minutes . Will this have fixed any undercooked problems i might have had or should i just mark it up has one of those fun thing and throw it away .I would hate to throw it away :(
I had some problems with my new oven because I just bought mine also. I was getting frustrated with it. I was told to pre-heat my oven for 5 minutes and then but the charm in to bake. I've tried a different oven at a family members house because I had some stuff to bake, I tried it twice and it still burnt.
Try to preheat before baking, tell me if it works and if it dosent then I learned that not all ovens work well for charms. Hope I helped! <3
I preheat . I use Super sculpey and paint it after it's cooled most of the time ., So a dark or brunt piece is not a problem . I want to know if re- baking one that was undercooked would have fully cured it so i can paint and sale it . Thank you for answering so fast :-)
Dragon, that will certainly have solved all your problems! I routinely bake my items about 10 degrees below the recommended temperature, for longer than necessary. They still cure properly, and i haven't noticed any trouble with durability!
