it seems like it will be a pretty useful tool for pinners.. just wondered what others thought?!

I'm back...

so far still going good, getting the hang of it.. so you go in & create what they call "campaigns" ... I pin a pic (uploaded or from the web) ... attach a link where I want the person to go when they click it .. add a description .. then pin it ..

it keeps track of not only likes & repins (which you can see anyway) but how many people actually click on it without liking or repinning... which is cool

so for example I can pin one great item from my shop & instead of directing them just to that item, I can direct them to my entire shop or to a shop section if I want...

I got an email from them saying I was "offered" a bonus of unlimited "campaigns" & if I gave them a short profile & pic (basically what I have on Pinterest already) they created a section for other pinerly's to choose others w/the same interests to follow...

so, if I only like DIY.. I can go to only those people, read their short summary of what they are about (bloggers, crafters, or just mommies wanting to DIY) .. makes it so much easier than looking at all their boards & deciding if I really feel like following them...

Hi Anna - you're the first person i've found who's on it too! :)

What category are you going to put yourself under in the suggested pages to follow section...? i found it really hard to decide! i went for 'variety' in the end because my boards are probably about a third of arts/crafts, animals/nature, and decor...

...they have asked for feedback so i sent them an email today saying i thought there should be more categories - there is nothing for arts/crafts!!! I've found a few cool pages to follow on there though - some with hundreds of thousands of followers which is quite amazing!

i can't wait 'till more people are on there so we can all chat about it :)

p.s. slightly off topic but what does everyone think of the new pinterest facility to set the cover image for your boards...? my page is looking SO much better now! pinterest.com/freespirit2012/ if you want to see

Just to update, Rick Kats from Pinerly sent a very lovely reply to my email saying that he is super grateful for the feedback and that they are implementing many of the changes i suggested by next week! - including arts and crafts and nature categories for the recommended pages to follow :)

Clearly they are very open to working with users on making Pinerly the tool we all want it to be - i have to say that i think this is a great attitude and i'm v impressed by the Pinerly team so far!

I was unsure of what to put my category as too... I think I ended up either putting random or variety, I don't remember...

I have mine listed under my personal name though, so it's arts/crafts, DIY, home decor, kids stuff... basically, a lot of everything!! LOL

So far, so good.. =)

I wanted to put mine as random too! (until i found out that is wasn't actually a proper category, but a random selection from the other categories... i'm glad you thought that too!! :) )
