Questions

1) Since I was one of the first to join, I did not have 10 shops above me to follow on Pinterest. I understand that for those who have 10 shops above them, you want them to be sure to follow the 10 above them on Pinterest, so everyone has followers, but after those 10, can we continue to follow others? Or will that mess things up with the system somehow?

2) I noticed you said for us to pin 5 items from each of the 10 shops above us on our own Pinterest boards. I've created a special board just for that (Discoveries from Other Etsy Shops). Do you know or does anyone else know if it matters if we pin from people's Pinterest boards or if we should visit their shops and pin from Etsy directly? Does one method help Etsy relevance more than the other (if it affects it at all)?

Thanks!

Re: Questions

I believe the "follow 10 before" rule, is just so that everyone gets new followers, but you can certainly follow as many accounts as you like - I plan on following all of the people above me!

I would imagine that pinning directly from etsy would help the shops relevance more than pinning from pinterest, but I think either way it brings more exposure to the shop! For me, personally, if the person has a pinterest board for their shop, I'll be pinning from there since I imagine those are items they would like to promote. If they don't have a "shop" pinterest board, I'll just pin some items directly from their etsy shop.

Re: Questions

Jocelyn, you've confirmed what I was thinking. I went ahead and followed 10 and I'm sure I will continue to follow more.

I went to pin items from someone's Pinterest but they did not have only their items pinned in their boards so it got confusing. Plus, how do we know which of their items on Pinterest have already sold? I try to mark mine as "for sale" and "sold," but others pinning quickly may not notice. I tend to agree that relevance may be helped if we visit their Etsy page, view their items, and pin from there, so although it might be a little more time consuming, I think that's the route I'm going to take.

Thanks!

Re: Questions

You're welcome! That's a good point about the sold items, I didn't think of that! In that case, it probably is better to pin directly from each person's shop. Although either way will still bring more exposure to that person's items/shop.

Re: Questions

Wow this has grown a lot in just a few hours. Almost at 60 people! I am going to add everyone to ALL of the pinterest group boards here on out so we all have access to make them grow.

John-- you make a good point but the good thing about Pinterest is that if someone sees something that is already sold and they click on it, they will still get to your shop and bring you more traffic :)

And then of course, please be patient with me, I have to invite each one of you individually to every board and it takes a bit of time, so bear with me!!! Thank you! I have to add about 20 new people to the boards now :) Happy Pinning and Happy Selling!

You can go ahead and start pinning all of your own items and go to other shops in this team and pin too. If we all do it, it will grow quickly :)

Re: Questions

Good to know! So, if I can tell which pins are theirs on their Pinterest boards, I will pin them from Pinterest and if I can't, I'll pin from their shops on Etsy. Thanks. Great to see more people joining us!

Re: Questions

Hi John, I was accepted to this team and went to the other post and added my link to be followed on Pinterest. I also followed the 10 before my post. How do I know what board to add my items to or is that not what I'm supposed to do. A little confused still. I checked my email this morning to see if maybe I missed some further instructions and don't have anything. Thank you for your help.

Re: Questions

Hi Teresa, I think I may have just mentioned this on the other board, lol. But I think you need to provide a link to your entire Pinterest page with all your boards. Natalie and Tyler will then be sending you a message on Pinterest to accept one or more contracts to have the Etsy boards added to your Pinterest account and then you can start pinning your pins to those boards! Since you don't have a business Pinterest, give your personal Pinterest link. Type it in the other discussion where you typed your board link so everyone can see it and follow you. Hope this helps!

Re: Questions

Natalie and Tyler, I know you have your hands full right now, but when you can get a chance (and there's no rush), could you add the tag "Vintage" to this team? Thanks!
