Hi, I just bought my button machine and blank pins, but struggling with finding out which paper I use, the ink, & what type of printer. Any suggestions? Please & thank you. (By the way, my button mould is a 2 1/4 inch 58mm)
I use the brightest white paper I can find- and a bit heavier weight.
I bought a color laser printer for about 400 bucks it prints fast and quality images. Toner is expensive but lasts much longer than ink. It depends on how much you will be printing if you want to make that kind of investment, but it's worth it to me.
I go to a print shop and get them to make digital prints of my pin designs and either on regular 20# text weight paper for some of my nicer ones I upgrade to a 80# or 100# Gloss Text weight. Usually you can fit a fair few on a 11x17.
I bought an HP laser printer for about $200 on sale, and it works awesome. I am dreading the day I have to replace the ink :) But I have to drive 20 minutes to my nearest printing place, so it's worth it.
I've bought refill toner online for my laser printer- It's super easy to do yourself, (much easier than ink)... I pay 100 bucks for 4 colors (including shipping)- and it get's me through 2 refills. I got it through http://www.printerdoctor.com/
Hey Jacob, Do the inkdoctors sell the right ink for your printer, or do you just buy ink refil? I am just curious, as I do not know what I am doing. lol
I have an HP CP1025NW but when I go on there, I only see toners. I am not sure if I have to replace those as well.
I don't use Inkdoctors- I use www.printerdoctor.com
I buy toner because I have a laser printer. You won't need to replace the cartridge, just buy refill toner. There are 4 colors.
I searched their site and didn't find your specific printer, but if you contact them they would be able to tell you what they can do. My printer was not on their website, but a compatible OKI laser printer toner was available.
