Do you ever sell digital files of your button designs?

Hi there,

I'm new to the team. I have a button/magnet shop.
I have had a request from a customer and was needing some advice.....

They are asking if I will sell a a pdf file of some of my button designs.
They have access to a button machine and want to make them themselves. They promise to only use my file once for personal use.

I haven't done this before. I dont know what I should charge and if I can trust them to only use the designs for personal use.

I'd love to hear if any of you have advice or have done a similar thing.

I've never done it... Sounds a bit sketchy to me. My vote is no.

Gianna is right, it does sound sketchy also they should purchase your pins rather than have almost unlimited access to your artwork.

I was once offered to have my designs used for greeting cardsp - but after conversing with the shop owner she made no attempts to discuss whether or not she would at least credit the design to me. She essentially wanted my design, to take credit and make money.

I agree with Giana - how do you know it will only be used once and for personal use. :)

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I just needed to hear it from someone else to help make my mind up :)
I told the customer I dont offer my designs as digital files and they were fine with it. Instead I offered free shipping and they were happy with that. So all good :D

I'll sleep better at night knowing my designs aren't out there for anyone to use.
