The Glory in Repinning!

Hi All,

I just wanted to make a point that if you see Etsy items on the Pin Feed on Pinterest, you should make it a point to "Repin" those items, especially if it's something you actually really like. This creates a domino effect throughout Pinterest and creates more visibility for the item.

Please make sure you "Repin" your fellow Etsians. Reciprocity is amazing and anytime you do a good deed for someone else (promoting them, giving business advice, helping each other, etc) it always comes back to you in a very good way!

Remember, Etsy is an avenue where many of us can create additional income and/or create or day jobs doing things we love! Help get the word out there!

I've seen more action from Pinterest than any other social media I've tried!
I'm pinning all of you as much as I can and would REALLY appreciate you all pinning me.

Pinterest works because it's VISUAL. I learned long ago that if you post on FB or Twitter, adding a photo gets you a lot more attention. I have no doubt that's why Pinterest is moving up the social media ladder so fast. Everyone loves pictures.

A note about the visual aspect of being online...
YOUR PHOTOS NEED TO HAVE IMPACT!
If your photos are dull, cluttered, out of focus, or just plain bad, then no one is going to want to pin or re-pin you to their beautifully thought out boards. Nor will they want to share your item on facebook or twitter.

Take the BEST pictures you possibly can! Make them pop, bring your product alive. That alone with get you more sales, more exposure, and a lot more attention.

I'm trying to make my living with this business. It's a tough way to go, but I love it. I started selling in earnest in October 2010. I floundered with 10-12 sales a month until the relevancy change. Each month since August 2011 my sales have grown... from a dozen sales a month, to a record 81 in December. Not sure if I'll make that many sales this month BUT my revenue is already higher.

YAY. I'm now officially making 1/2 my living from my shop
