Quick question

How does anyone really start a pin shop?
Every quote I get, its for about 100 pins and its going to be over $200 or $300! How did anyone get started? Any recommendations on places to get pins made for cheap?
Thanks!
Rae

Re: Quick question

Um the price you sell your pin at is how you make the money. The limited number of pins you make is how you up the value. Good art and high demand for the design is another value increase.

I use AllAboutPins and I've never had any issues. I make about $600 of my sets of $100 after I do my giveaways and deduct the cost of my pins.

It's costly but you make a lot in the end. You just have to be willing to promote and show it off as much as possible. The quicker the flip of the set of pins the more profit you'll make.

Re: Quick question

Hey thanks for the recommendations to other companies too - I used All About Pins and they were great service.

@Rae I wondered about that too - currently I only have 1 pin, some greeting cards and mostly handmade earrings filling up the rest of my shop. I am waiting until I sell at least some before I have money to invest in more!

Re: Quick question

I am just starting, but so far my advice is :

Work in something else, and save 10% of your money for your shop.

Re: Quick question

Also, until the shop can stand on it's own, anything you make gets put back into your shop. You re-invest it.
