What size do you make your image when you upload it on etsy?

I'm trying to use caution and not use too big of an image so that it can't get stolen easily. I was told by another photographer to not set it any bigger than 600x400 pixels at 72ppi, but I feel like they look like low quality images now :/..

I do lean towards a vintage feel in my images, so I don't intend for them to be perfectly crystal clear, but I don't want them to look like low quality either..

Let me know what you think! Maybe I'm just being dramatic:)

I use 700 x at 72 sometimes 96. I think that is a good place - not that useful to others who could try to get it, and at current Etsy zoom - image is nice and clear.

I sometimes think some folks are calling something vintage instead of low quality. If so that will confuse incoming customers for awhile I suspect. Over time customers if they do not leave Etsy will come to their own conclusion.

I looked at a few of your pics in zoom, and it looks like what your doing is looking good, letting images look good.

I am guessing stolen files of our images may only be tolerable for printing 4x6/5x7, on screen probably could use...depending on lots of things for both.

Actually Etsy site designers should not be allowing copy function at all for images of anything "print".
