Do you sign your photography?

I'm curious...

Thanks,
Pam

Re: Do you sign your photography?

Yes, and number too.

Everything is a 200 print run (across all sizes and formats with the exception of novelty items (which I don't currently sell)).

Re: Do you sign your photography?

If I printed from home, I would, but my photos are shipped directly from a professional printer. I do, however, have a small copyright in a corner of my photos. I keep it small and make sure it doesn't "interfere" with the main subject, but I want anyone looking at the photo to know it's mine. We shouldn't be afraid to promote ourselves, nor to protect our art.

Re: Do you sign your photography?

I sign and put the name of the photo on the back of my prints. I'm trying to decide what to do when I start drop shipping canvas and framed prints directly to my customers from my lab. Maybe a digital version of my signature? Has anyone tried that?

Re: Do you sign your photography?

I sign and number each print. I also have a stamp that stamps my studio logo and website on the back as well.

I know my print shop "can" do custom back printing with my signature on it. But there is an extra cost associated with that. In addition, I personally feel that the hand signing adds to the personality of the print. Printed signatures just don't have the same personal feel. Just my humble opinion.

Re: Do you sign your photography?

Always! I have bought prints in the past with no signature and it felt to clinical and mass produced, I write a hand written note with my signature and sign the print also.

Oh, and a repeat buyers discount also to encourage return business.

Re: Do you sign your photography?

That's a good idea (a repeat buyers discount)! I'm thinking of doing that for my art show sales (if someone buys something give them a slip with a discount for my Etsy shop).

Re: Do you sign your photography?

People can request a signature, and I will sign, but not normally.
I do send a custom card, though.

Not unless they request it.

Re: Do you sign your photography?

If you hold a 12 mil print up to the light you can see the signature through it. So, if they request it Ill sign it. Also its harder to sign canvas.

Re: Do you sign your photography?

I sign on the lower right side of the photo but making it small so as to interfere the beauty of the image. And sign my complete name at the back as well. Athis is for physical orders. However, for digital download, I am thinking of including a small signature too. This is to protect my piece.
