I linked Product Variants with their photos, so that now on Etsy when someone clicks on a size or color from the dropdown list the corresponding image pops up. This is working perfectly. My problem is that this isn't happening on my pattern site....When you select a variant the corresponding image doesn't pop up like it does on Esty. It's very frustrating frankly because the variants are so different from eachother and the customer won't know which image is related to which variant and then might get upset when the product they recieve doesn't look like the image they saw.
Yes. This feature is not available on Pattern. Very frustrating.
I agree its frustrating and makes the site more amateurish and more difficult for potential customers to know exactly what they are purchasing. Seems like Etsy would fix this since it would help with sales...which is good for THEM too.
I think Etsy has abandoned Pattern in all ways except for collecting subscription fees.
Could you perhaps add text to the bottom of your images, naming the variation? That would help your Pattern users to distinguish. I add text to my images with a free Paint app. I use a clear text box with text color that stands out from the photo. I also add text to the bottom of images showing my items with other things not included: "Other items pictured are for illustrative purposes only". I guess in order to make Pattern work, we have to think way outside the box...
Those are good ideas. I think I'll try.
I just wish the linking worked like on Etsy. It would be a lot less work for their customers and might maybe even improve sales a little, and make are mockups more sleek and appealing.
Another option is to create separate listings for each variant in Pattern only.
