For a variety of personal reason (health issues being one big one), I am looking for a VERY simple host for a website for myself. At this point, I've given up on the bigger/popular ones as they seem too complicated and I just get too frustrated with them overtime.
I am left with either Big Cartel or with Pattern. Sooooo, I am now wondering if any of you found actual success with Pattern. I know I'd have to drive my own traffic.
Thanks!
I've found that it's very easy to get my listings on there, when I'm creating a listing for Etsy, I copy it, make the changes to it that I want to make for my website, and then add it. The thing I like the most about it, is the payments are driven through Etsy, so they take care of the state taxes and I don't have to worry about it. You're going to pay for credit card processing fees either way, so that's a wash, and Patterns is only $15 a month vs. other sites that can be much more for what you want. The only issue I've found is I can't run a sale on just one site or the other, if you run a sale, it's on both sites. There are some design limitations too, but I felt like that was easy to get past.
I have used it since it started. I am pleased with it. I do not make any changes to it (other than the title).
You will get a lot (I mean a lot) of negativity over this subject, so be ready.
I've had mine for quite a few years. My main reason to use it was because I have a lot of inventory and keeping track of that in 2 places was not worth it. Doing it manually wasn't feasible and the apps on Shopify to keep track of inventory in both places were outrageously priced.
That has changed, and I might change my website, too. But with only a small amount of using social media, Pattern has more than paid for itself.
