Has anyone used their Pattern shop for listings other than what you have on Etsy

I'm thinking of reopening my Pattern shop but not having it as a "mirror" of all my listings that are in my regular Etsy shop. This may or not work well but would give me a chance to list non-vintage items or even vintage items that are OOAK just to see if it would work. I had 3 blogs when I was open, and would definitely use this feature more, especially with the one of a kind items, and each blog would center around a certain topic with a link back to my Pattern shop.

I also have 2 other shops on Etsy and thought instead of listing there, I could list new items (art & military) on Pattern. I know you can't have similar items in your Etsy shops but I believe Pattern can take all listings no matter what shops you have. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

The one thing I wasn't too pleased with was the fact that you couldn't put live links (Pattern) in your Etsy descriptions. But I suppose Etsy didn't want to lose the fees for any sales even though they're getting a monthly fee from the Pattern shop.

If anyone is doing this, let me know how this is working for you (or if it is). I do not do social media so the blogging would be my way of marketing my shop.

So glad you started this team!

Since you've had Pattern, I'm sure you realize this. But the only drawback I see with your plan is that your Pattern site is only connected to one shop.  So if you want items from your other shops in there, you'll have to add them to the shop tied to your Pattern account.

Technically, you can list the same item in multiple shops, you just can't have them be identical and they can't be "excessive".  (Found that here:  https://www.etsy.com/legal/policy/having-more-than-one-shop-on-etsy/239321297406?segment=selling )

But to answer your question, I currently only have a few items in my Pattern shop that aren't in my Etsy shop.  But those are mostly things that were in my Etsy shop but that weren't selling, so I figured I'd just put them in the Pattern shop and avoid the renewal fee.  They still haven't sold, so hard to say if it is working or not.  LOL  My goal is to add some non-Etsy items to my Pattern site in the near future.

Funky - thanks for your response. Perhaps you misunderstood as to having the same item in Pattern from one of my other shops. It would not be listed in the other shops; it would be a new military and/or art item that has never been listed in either of my other shops. Or it could be an expired listing that would not be renewed, but instead would be listed in Pattern only. (Hope this makes sense.)

I have pattern only items in my shop, not an issue at all, and I also have items that are in both... no extra expenses and no worries if one sells in my etsy shop it automatically deletes from my pattern website. Usually I put most of my expired items just in my pattern store until much closer to the holidays. I also have many (over 200) pattern only and never listed in my etsy shop.

Thanks, Magic. But do you have other Etsy shops as well. This is why I was asking if it would be okay to list expired items from the other 2 shops in the Pattern shop; or new, never listed, items that had the same "content" as my other Etsy shops. I thought perhaps it could be a conflict. However, I did hear from Etsy and apparently it would be okay. The alternative would be to simply close the other 2 shops, and have only the original Etsy shop and the Pattern shop. Still not sure how I will proceed. When my Pattern shop was active I did have Pattern only listings so that part I was aware of. I appreciate your taking the time to respond.

No, I don't have any other current shops open, but I dont see why it would be a problem to put any of those items in your shop, the only thing I would see that could be a problem if you were to list it in your other etsy shop and it sold on your website, you would manually have to delete it from your etsy store. But inactive items should be no issues.
