Anyone have blog comments enabled on your Pattern site?
No one with Etsy support has a clue on finding the "short name" that was used when Disqus was setup as the blog comment plugin, Can't toggle comments to allow on the blog without it. There is a place to enter it, but no one with Etsy support has a clue what it is, how it works, why it is important or actually has any interest in finding out. I was told to go ask Disqus. Somewhere, at some point in time, someone from Etsy or Pattern or a 3rd party contractor typed in a "short name" for the Pattern sites to use as a connection to Disqus to use as the comment plugin. Without that short name, I can't enable comments on my blog because the connection has to be made from the server level, through that original connection from Pattern to Disqus. I don't know if they wrote it on a post it note that got lost or the person quit or got fired or went to Google or Ebay and didn't tell any of their secrets, I just know that right now, it appears that no one knows and no one has any interest in finding out to help me and my blog to have comments from my customers and build relationships with them. So I can only post on my blog as if it were a glorified site announcement.
There are questions I am formulating, especially after reading some of the other comments from this group. My thought is Etsy Plus is sucking all the oxygen from anything related to Pattern, to bring those fees and services back under their full control and bottom line. I have the domain name, I can setup a wordpress storefront and my instagram and facebook and pinterest links will mostly work if they are not listing specific. Since Pattern allows listings that are not maker/vintage, I think the sights are set on Pattern as a target of forced early retirement.

Re: Anyone have blog comments enabled on your Pattern site?
I no longer have Pattern and I never turned on the blog, so these are just questions.
Looking at Etsy Help, it looks like you have to set up an account on Discus. So you've done that, right? I would think THAT is where the name comes from, but that's a guess. Maybe your account name? or something like that?
