Hello!

My name is Nellie and have a shop here at www.nelesc.etsy.com. I am re-starting a series on my blog titled Crafty/Artsy Caregivers dedicated to creative parents caring for special needs children. You can find out more about me and my blog here, www.nellescalante.com. I have two boys on the autism spectrum and am a fabric artisan and museum educator among other things. I am interested in how others create in this context of extreme caregiving and decided to interview others. It would be great exposure for your shop and honestly, it will give my readers, and myself, a chance to learn and add to this little documented field of study.

I just saw your post- how interesting!! My 22 year old son has Downs and Autism and is graduating in a couple of weeks- ahhh!!!

good morning. I love your work/designs and ideas featured in your shop. I was put off by the captivity thing till I read it and understood immediately. I have a daughter with Down Syndrome, 32 and a daughter who is bipolar. I am a Special Education teacher (22 years) and have had an increase of students with autism spectrum diagnosis, including educational diagnosis of autism the last 3 years. My children have taught me so much that I use with my students. Holly

I apologize for not writing back in a timely fashion. Life got in the way of my intentions of writing this series on my blog. I am truly sorry. I did manage to finish writing a book about this same subject and I just posted the link where you can find it on my shop or amazon.

I am hoping to start this series soon. Thank you so much for your patience.
