I am the manager of BathSavvy here on Etsy. BathSavvy is a family owned and run business right here in Michigan.

I started this new team to promote Michigan Shops, Michigan made products and boost the morale of Michigan Shop Owners.

My only rules are be nice, use the established threads for promotion and if you have time, create some team treasuries with our team tag : mi team

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hello Everyone! I'm rather new to Etsy (had my shop for about 3-4 months), and brand new to this team!

Born and raised in Livonia, currently going to school in Tennessee, and I miss my mitten DAILY, especially during the fall!

I started my little shop when I wanted to help out one of my friend's amazing charities, Afrocka (www.afrocka.org). So I started taking old t-shirts and "transforming" them into scarves!

And so Transformed Scarves & Accessories was born :)

70% of all the money I make goes to Afrocka, and they fund some awesome projects in Africa like digging water wells and providing education for children in Kenya! So I would encourage you to check out my stuff; not for my benefit but for a really GREAT non-profit!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hello! My name is Coral and I moved to Michigan about 4 years ago after getting married. (We met online and he brought me here!) :) My shop is Sweet Coral Bells. Right now I only have a few newborn headbands listed (inspired by my Daughter). I have more to post and a couple other styles as well. (Waiting on pictures) I also plan to add other things to my shop soon, all inspired by things I love. (Coasters, Nursing covers, PDF recipe cards, napkin rings, etc.)

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi My name is Kimberly, I have lived in Michigan all my life. From Detroit Area to Rogers City, Now I live in Petoskey, MI. I worked for 911 for over 20 years and had to retire because of a near fatal car accident. 21 surgerys later Im here and found my love for creating again.

I love making jewelry, many types of custom gifts which I usually put in gallerys locally but will be listing soon. I work with polymer clay, genuine gemstones, pearls, swarovski crystals. I love my art.

I am proud to say this year I was published in a polymer clay magazine in the UK ~ From Polymer To Art ~ This is not Pink ~ August 2012 issue. I have been lucky and won several design and art challenges in polymer and jewerly creating. I was invited to crate for the stars at the cma awards this year but have been too ill.

With my Etsy shop I have not had much luck with sales. I have howevery had wonderful luck with my Artfire. I am striving to make my Etsy shop succeed. Im opening a second Etsy shop in Nov 2012 to split up the different items I create. Since I have over 500 items to list (I made my items then listed instead of listing as I created) Ugh I wish I had known how hard listing is. I sell in a few gallerys and shops in Petoskey and also out of my studio at home. Im in several Art shows in Petoskey through the year. I love my art and love making people happy. Custom Items are my favorite. I love creating something that someone else dreams of.

I do teach polymer and jewelry lessons - private at this time but will be teaching larger groups after the first of the year. I love teaching children to create.

If you want to learn more about me. Please stop by and join my blog and facebook. I do several giveaways for items over $50 in my shops. Lots of free tutorials on my site as well. I always do weekly blogs about other artists. so if you want to be on my blog sometime drop me a line. :) I love helping other artists find their way. I have had many be kind to me and it helps so much to have some tips now and then.

here are my links. Hope you stop by.

I'm Ashley and I'm a street artist in Oakland County, Mi. My shop name is evoashes. During the summer I'm usually in parks or on the street corner painting away as long as the cops don't care. In the winter I'm stuck indoors so I started an Etsy account and craft show it up =)

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi all - I joined Etsy just 2 months ago, and a friend "Baskets by Rose" suggested this team. Thank you for accepting my request. I sew, knit, crochet, & embroider. Right now I am trying to find my niche in the market. I live in Dearborn - home of Henry Ford. It has been my home for nearly all of my life, except for 18 yrs as a Navy wife - which I lived world wide.
Any help for assistance for my shop would be appreciated - critics, as well, as I cannot grow if I don't know what I am doing!
Right now I do have a few orders, and also busy making most of my Christmas gifts for family & friends - I think I decided to start Etsy at a bad time for me. After the new year I intend to take all the advice and go at this hard.
Happy Thanksgiving this week to all - and Happy Holidays.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi everyone! I go by a silly alias, The Girl from the Ghetto. I'm not a shop owner (yet), but I am a dedicated shopper, blogger, and resident of Michigan. I love to promote Michigan in every way to anyone who will listen, and usually do so while blogging.

I've been blogging for nearly five years, and I write about all sorts of things to both educate and entertain people. I also review books and products, and would love to feature more Michigan made products this year, as I know how badly I've been affected by the economy.

I'm doing a charity-driven 2012 Holiday Gift Guide this year. I donate the items I feature, review and host giveaways for to local Michigan charities of my choosing. Last year, I donated close to $1,300 worth of merchandise, and nearly 200 brand new books.

I've you are interested in working with me on a review or a review and giveaway, feel free to check out my blog, to see if I'm a good fit for your product.

You can check out this post:

http://thegirlfromtheghetto.wordpress.com/2012/11/11/2012-holiday-gift-guide-accepting-submissions/

To make it easy, here is a list of my review guidelines for my Gift Guide:

To be included in my 2012 Holiday Gift Guide, you will be required to ship your book or product to me (for free), and submit the following information to me via email at thegirlfromtheghetto [at] gmail [dot] com:

■Product name and info
■Product website and other social media links
■Brief product description
■Price and link to purchase item
■JPEG image

Please also let me know if you would like me host a giveaway for the same item you’d like profiled in my guide, or if you’d like me to share any Black Friday or Cyber Monday discount codes with my readers.

Nice to "meet" everyone!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi everyone,

My name is Pamela and I recently started making stained glass. My shop is called Express In Glass. My profile picture is my first project. Then I made some beautiful panels for above my front door and now I've made a Detroit Tiger Old English 'D'. My friends and family liked the 'D' so much that I decided to try to sell it on Etsy. Please check it out on the Express In Glass page! I would appreciate any feedback you could all give me regarding my product so please feel free to let me know what you think! I plan to make a Detroit Red Wing and Detroit Lion panel as well. I am also starting to take special orders for individuals who would like an item other than what is listed in my shop. Please let me know if you have any questions about a stained glass project you may have in mind! Happy Holidays!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hell, My name is Amy. Mom of one 9 year old Daughter. Born in Texas raised in Michigan. I grew up mostly in Lansing and Holt but I also spent a huge chunk of my childhood in Traverse City. It is my goal to return to TC in the next few years. I work for a MI based clothing company by day and Etsian by night. I sell vintage goods, mostly from my own collection. I am just about to hit my 6 month mark on Etsy! I hope to add handmade goods and art to my store in the next few months. I love being a part of Etsy, it is so inspiring. The people are so friendly! It does not feel like the cold, impersonal world of the web. I was the retail buyer for Creative Wellness, East Lansing for years and my goal is to open a Healthy alternative lifestyle store one day. Michigan has so much hidden beauty and I love to see her story told through all of my fellow MI seller’s items. Nice to meet all of you

Re: Introduce Yourself!

We are a husband and wife team, Matt and Leesa Dykstra. Matt is the woodworker and Leesa is the one who takes care of the shop and our customers. We live near Lansing and have lived in the area for 10 years. We have 2 boys that are 3 and 5. We also have our 16 year old niece that lives with us.

We make pieces using reclaimed wood, mostly pallets. Our shop is brand spanking new and pretty bare, but before long it will be full of awesome unique handmade items!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi team! I am Lindsey. I was born and raised outside Lansing, but now live in the Grand Rapids area. I am married and have a 6 month old daughter. I have been making jewelry for about 6 years now, all kinds, but my main focus now is everyday jewelry. I recently decided to open up shop, so I'm kind of new to all this. I am really hoping that this will be a successful endeavor for me. Since my daughter is so young I am crossing my fingers, saying a prayer and working my tush off to try and make this a real business that is profitable so I can continue to stay at home with my little angel. Any advice, words of encouragement (or constructive criticism) would be appreciated! Very excited to be a part of this MICHIGAN team! :)

Hello everyone!! I'm an artist working out of Ann Arbor. I've lived alI over MI but Ann Arbor is by far my favorite spot. I sell prints of my original children's illustrations. I usually try to create things that I believe I would have enjoyed as a child. (I still love them even at my age actually). It's nice to meet everyone!
