How do you clean your tools and utensils?

I make lotion bars, and it's so hard to clean my pan and my molds after each batch. The molds especially have a residue, and I feel like it affects how nicely the next batch comes out of the mold.

I have this problem too, and honestly... The easiest way to do it is to really get in there with an oil based cleanser, since hot water and soap usually just doesn't cut it. I looked for a quick fix too, but I don't think it exists. Let me know if you find out! :D

Hi, thanks for the reply! I didn't see it until now. An oil based cleanser...like what? I've just been using loads of dish soap and some things just never get clean.

Have you tried Castile soap?

I soak in hot water and then put in the dishwasher on the hottest and longest setting

I put whatever I made it in on the double boiler again so it's good and melted, dunp excess into garbage and give it a good wipe out with a paper towel. For other dishes I put them in the sink, dump the still hot water from double boiling in and then dump it all. That gets a lot of the excess off. Then I just wash like normal. Works every time. However I don't use molds for my lotion bars so I don't have to worry about that.

I've been having the same issue on my larger molds that don't really fit in the sink. I'll need to try the castile soap.
