What happens after 4th October

As our team is heavily focused on just one day in the year, most of you might be wondering about what happens in the team for the rest of the year. So here is a run through -

October - the rest of October the team leaders and myself will be off. Apart from some post scheduling nothing more will be done. Let us all use this time to work on stocking up for the holiday season.

November - We will run some small Christmas shopping feature to help promote for the shopping season.

December - We will be quiet again this time as everyone will have their focus on family and the holidays.

January - more info will come then.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We would love some of your feedback regarding this sale, ways to promote, in-team activites, or anything else. Please feel free to share your ideas or give your feedback by commenting on this post.

Re: What happens after 4th October

nice! For next year can I suggest that may be you have different category for shops to make it easier for other people to find what they are looking for? like a crochet/knitting, Pets, kids, Beauty products etc.

Re: What happens after 4th October

Greetings!...and Thank You for setting up this sale event. I hope to participate again next year and like Angie's suggestion.

I truly was looking forward to our OBSD but have not made any sales -even after promoting profusely. May I ask how today's sales are going for our Team Members?

Re: What happens after 4th October

I have a few extra views but haven't sold anything. I wasn't promoting too much though. Just facebook, instagram and Twitter. I'm hopeful, the day isn't over for me yet!

Re: What happens after 4th October

I didn't get any sale but I will be participating next year. I am new, not even two months old, I think that's a big reason.

I suggest choosing Monday for next year, instead of Saturday, as we get most views on Monday.

Re: What happens after 4th October

Very disappointed did not make one sale. Is there someway of showing you have a sale going on rather than just a tiny announcement now that customers come in direct to see a product they don't read a shop announcement.
Sat is usually a very quiet day for me so maybe a mid week sale may have been better. I went to the pub last night and made 5 sales at full price.

Re: What happens after 4th October

By day's end, No Sales for me either. In retrospect, I would agree that Saturday is not the day for such an event. Tho' I am new, also, I've noticed most views for me come after work hours, during the week. But still doesn't account for the lack of sales on OBSD. Could be my product? Timing? Not enough discount? IDK. Just disappointed and deflated today...

BTW, I am still appreciative of the efforts of all in organizing and promoting this event. However, I would be interested to hear the final stats on the Coupon code use.

Re: What happens after 4th October

I have one awesome customer who is very loyal to my jewelry line, she made the sale a great day. However, if not for her, I would not have had any sales. It can be very discouraging when you work so hard to promote your items you also work so hard on. I am thinking of using Etsy on Sale for my next sales event, when people looked at an individual item, I not sure they even knew it was on sale, unless they looked at my shop and saw the sale, which I can't even put in bold letters. Maybe we can think of more ideas for November and December. Thanks to all the team leaders hard work as well.

Re: What happens after 4th October

Thanks for the effort, everyone! No sales for me, either, despite extensive promotion across the social media platforms and in the teams I'm a member of. It was worth a try and maybe we'll have better luck next year!

Re: What happens after 4th October

As I said in the other discussion had 6 sales (5 from one customer). Worked my teams (57) all day long promoting the sale at the top of each thread I did. Expected much much more..... I think Etsy should help out with these things.... When we all go out and out and try to make a sale on our OWN, maybe the people who get all of the money from us should help out a little. Just sayin...

Re: What happens after 4th October

thank you for putting this together.

After a very disappointing lack of view and no sales, I am wondering if we should focus on having a sale on a know holiday/sale event.

I will be doing a Thanksgiving sale which will end after Cyber Monday.

I will again use Etsy on sale. I do not have to create a coupon code and all item have a red sale on photo and the item also are posted on the Etsy on Sale site.

Re: What happens after 4th October

Congrats Looney!

It's always tough when it's a new event like this to get the buzz out there to shoppers. I'd love to hear how others did on Saturday...

Re: What happens after 4th October

What if next year the sale was on Cyber Monday? Already a known sale day & a regular day of the week.

I think a universal tag is also important - something advertised that buyers know to search for. With just the blog list, you are relying on the buyers to click through to every shop, which gets tiresome. Searching one tag brings up pages of items, easily perusable. Then the tags can be changed back after the sale.

I don't know if possible, but maybe send a reminder message to everyone on the team a month prior to sale day? Seemed like a lot of shops forgot they joined or weren't sure what they needed to do. If alerted prior, there may be many more people out there promoting for all of us.

Just some thoughts! Thanks again!
